Geographic Names Information System (GNIS)
The U.S. Geological Survey developed the GNIS for the U.S. Board on Geographic Names as the official repository of domestic geographic names data; the official vehicle for geographic names use by all departments of the Federal Government; and the source for applying geographic names to Federal electronic and printed products. (I've located many a cemetery name and location with this.)
In addition, I personally knew where two old Cemeteries with the same name were and they were not listed by USGS, however still a good tool! Not limited to Cemeteries by the way... locates many geographical places

Search USGS GNIS
National Park Service Soldiers and Sailors system
Search for Civil War Soldiers by surname, locate units and ranks...
Only soldiers at the moment.... however, most handy.
Note: Many of the fellows enlisted under nick names, sounds like spellings of surnames... etc...
So be flexible... run different searches....

Patriot Guard Riders
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:
  • Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
  • Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

Visions of Arkansas
John Davidson is an avid photographer based out of Bryant, Arkansas who loves to photograph landscapes, buildings and wildlife of Arkansas. Currently, he is on a mission to photograph Arkansas barns and churches with the goal of publishing a coffee table book of his work. Another project that is in progress is photographing all the County Court Houses in Arkansas. He sells prints and will be glad to answer any questions you might have. Know of a lovely old Church or classic barn that you think he would be interested in photographing?
